THE MAGIC OF CORBIN MOTORCYCLE SADDLES

There are moments during Daytona Bike Week 2026 when the ride slows down just enough for something meaningful to happen, and this one took me straight to the legendary Corbin Motorcycle Saddles on a mission. My ’94 Harley-Davidson Road King has seen its share of miles, but finding a modern, comfortable seat for that year? That’s a tall order. Seat pans from that era aren’t exactly sitting on shelves anymore, and upgrading without losing that classic feel isn’t easy. So Marilyn Stemp made the call to Mike Corbin, a name that’s been synonymous with long-haul comfort for decades. Without hesitation, he told me to swing by.

Pulling into Corbin’s Daytona setup felt like stepping into a craftsman’s playground. Within minutes, the station manager had my bike rolled right into the shop, tools were out, and the old saddle was coming off. They dug through inventory, trying to match something that would fit a bike from ’94, but as expected, nothing quite lined up. That’s when things took a turn from routine to unforgettable. Mike walked me into the showroom and, right there on the spot, his manager, Christopher Keohane, began designing a custom seat specifically for my bike. No shortcuts, no compromises, just pure craftsmanship. I got to choose everything: the stitching, the materials, and even a slick teal outline that tied perfectly into the bike’s original paint. Watching that process unfold in real time was something special.

What really set it apart was what came next. This wasn’t just a “we’ll call you when it’s done” kind of deal. As the seat went into production, I started getting regular email updates, step-by-step progress reports showing exactly where my saddle was in the build process. From initial shaping to final assembly, even down to the moment a quality inspector signed off on it. It felt like being part of the build without ever leaving home.

A few short weeks later, the finished piece showed up at my door, and it was everything I hoped for and then some. Perfect fit, modern comfort, and a custom look that still respects the soul of that ’94 Road King. In a world where so much is mass-produced, this was a reminder that true craftsmanship is still alive and well—and sometimes, all it takes is a phone call and a ride into the heart of Bike Week to find it.
