Question of the Month
It’s officially spooky season across the United States.
As Halloween will take place later this week, the October Question of the Month asks what you will be dressing up as for Halloween this year? Enter your answers here.
Last month, we asked our members to share their favorite motorcycling trip from this summer. Here are some of the responses:
“A 2-day loop through the scenic byways of Aroostook County and Down East Maine. I can’t believe I hadn’t done this sooner!” – Tom Abisalih
“Did an Appalachian Trail trip, from Georgia to Maine and back, east and west sides of the mountains. [I rode] over 5,000 miles and 17 days. Only 3 days of rain. Wonderful sights.” – Steven Chen
“A good friend and I herded our sidecar rigs from Helena, Mont., to Athena, Ore., for this year’s Hodaka Days. I’d been to Athena a number of times on a motorcycle but had never been there during Hodaka Days. I knew better than to attend with my pickup; too easy to succumb to the temptation of hauling an ACE 100 or Wombat back with me. Figured it would be pretty hard to fit a Hodaka in the sidecar on the Africa Twin outfit. Although its was suggested by a few folks and I entertained the idea briefly. Hodaka Days was a real hoot. Glad I went, met some really great people and reminisced over a lot of Hodaka memories. It’s on the agenda again for next year.” – Ken Conrad
“Hit the road for a few days and spent some time in Gatlinburg, Tenn., New Orleans and Saint Augustine, Fla., before finishing up at the Outer Banks and returning home.” – Michael Carrera
“BMW NorCal club’s EPIC Range of Light Gypsy Tour over Labor Day weekend: Arrived in Crescent Mills at Paxton Lodge, Calif.. There we learned that the next stop would be Yreka’s Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds. Woke up next morning, got the luggage & panniers onto the truck by 8 a.m., packed up and headed out for some glorious GS/offroad miles, then arrived, set up the tent and learned the next and final stop was Trinity County Fairgrounds in Hayfork, via the off-grid Salmon River Saloon. Camaraderie, delicious dinners, beer good & cold. Part adventure, part endurance challenge, part test of spirit, and 100% unforgettable, thanks to our Board of Directors, and all the volunteers that made it so :).” –Tracy Orvik
“Riding with my son for his first overnight motorcycle trip.” – Ron McDonald |
