Announcing The Bike Shed opening in L.A.!

At last we can officially announce that we    are opening the Bike Shed in Los Angeles. Although we’ve been working on this for almost 2 years, and we know our t-shirts & jackets kinda gave it all away, we didn’t want to jump the gun on official announcements before we had the perfect space, and the permits from the City of L.A. to turn it into a destination that matched the vision we have for the Bike Shed in the US.
At 30,000 square feet the venue is huge, and it allows us to do things we’d love to do in London, but can’t fit – like a proper members bar and a tattoo studio.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the story, as that’s how you do things here in L.A., and we’ve started sharing 3D renders of the space, but there are many more. We hope some of you will be able to come and join us at the opening, but either way our universe is now officially growing, and so is the BSMC community. Thanks for all your support and faith so far. – DUTCH

The worst kept secret in the moto-community is now out there for the mainstream general public. As our digital press release, we have set up bikeshedmoto.com, a page led by commissioned artwork from Bike Shed favourite Ryan Quickfall.

Our architect, Spacecraft, has also created around 40 3D renders of the space, which we can now start to share with all of you.

BIKE SHED IN THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
The Hollywood Reporter in L.A. got the scoop, where Vikki and I tried to explain the concept of a ‘motorcycle members club’, where you don’t need to join the club, and we don’t mind if you don’t turn up on a motorcycle, but we are still an authentic motorcycle destination.

THE LOS ANGELES HOUSE OF MACHINES

So here’s what I know about the Los Angeles House of Machines location: Kevin Dunworth has his Golden Bolt Show there, and Chris & Fiona Richardson’s LA Speed Shop is on site – at least a small version of it. Until now, that’s all I knew. So before I headed east from the left coast after attending the Long Beach IMS, I stopped in to visit House of Machines, in LA’s “arts district,” for coffee and a look-see. ARCH Motorcycle Company begins production of the highly anticipated KRGT-1 and is now accepting reservations.

LOS ANGELES, CALIF (September 12, 2014) – Founders Gard Hollinger and Keanu Reeves are proud to introduce the custom-production KRGT-1, ARCH Motorcycle Company’s versatile, performance-oriented, American V-twin with the perfect balance of performance and design. Manufactured exclusively in ARCH’s Los Angeles area factory, the KRGT-1 will be built to order with an initial offering price of $78,000. Production will be limited, making ownership a coveted experience.

KRTGT-1-PCHWhen Reeves approached Hollinger at his motorcycle shop (LA County Choprods) 7 years ago, he was in search of a custom sissy bar for his near-stock V-twin cruiser. What followed was the idea to build an athletic, retro-modern custom motorcycle. That custom motorcycle became the prototype that inspired the formation of the Arch Motorcycle Company.

Once the decision was made to bring their concept to the public, Hollinger committed to the lengthy process of vetting his design to meet even higher aesthetic, performance, production and reliability standards. This three-year quest allowed time to perfect the ARCH philosophy, “Connecting The Art and The Ride.”

The KRGT-1 represents the culmination of years of design and R&D focused on producing a category-defying American motorcycle with real world rideability to match the meticulous craftsmanship. Its streamlined retro-modern styling brings the contours of the past into the present. The bike showcases over 200 parts created at the Arch production facility, each bike requiring 300-plus machine-hours using state-of-the-art CNC and water-jet machinery.  Dozens of other proprietary parts are supplied by premium vendor/partners who share the same demanding standards.

What started in 2007 as a simple request for a sissy bar has evolved into the launch of the KRGT-1, a true production model uniting refreshed style with modern performance technology. The KRGT-1 is Presence in Motion.
