BAKER Drivetrain Introduces the Comptimizer Heavy-Duty Compensator Spring for
High-Performance Harley-Davidson V-Twins

HASLETT, Michigan – April 15, 2026 — BAKER Drivetrain, the industry’s go-to source of high-performance drivetrain innovations, today announced the release of the Comptimizer Heavy-Duty Compensator Spring. Designed specifically as a high-performance upgrade to the stock outer spring in modern Harley-Davidson motorcycles, this precision-engineered component is the essential final touch for riders looking to harness the full potential of their Harley-Davidson V-Twin engines.
The Comptimizer transforms the riding experience by delivering a quieter, more refined ride for both stock and performance-built machines.
Technically, the Comptimizer increases the compensator’s torsional absorption capacity because of the additional total spring force that it provides. By doing so, it improves performance on startup and initial takeoff by controlling low speed compensator shutter and starter kickback.
Riders will notice a smoother ride due to the improved power delivery and a marked reduction in noise because of the increased spring pressure. All this, while significantly boosting the horsepower and torque capacity of the driveline.
“I see guys drop ten grand on a monster motor only to leave the stock compensator in there to get hammered to death,” says Bert Baker, co-founder of BAKER Drivetrain. “It’s one of the parts responsible for taking all that new torque, and the stock unit just isn’t up to the task.”

“We didn’t release the Comptimizer to be a miracle cure for a beat-up drivetrain… we built it as a heavy-duty enhancement for a serviceable unit. By increasing total spring pressure, we’re providing enhanced capacity and preventing the excessive fretting that kills components over time. It’s a low-buck way to quiet down startup and shutdown noise and ensure your primary can actually handle the load you’re putting on it. If you’re building for power, this is the upgrade you don’t skip.”
An upgrade like this is noticeable immediately and is also a commitment to drivetrain longevity. TheComptimizer keeps sturdy internal drivetrain components in good shape with minimized wear, keeping a high-performance bike on the road longer.
Manufactured in the United States, BAKER Drivetrain products bring American craftsmanship to streets and racetracks everywhere. The Comptimizer is available now through BAKER Drivetrain’s network of retailers across the country.
Fitment Information
The Comptimizer is designed for 2007-later Softail and Touring applications, as well as 2006–2017 Dyna models. For 2007 to 2010 Big Twins, the motorcycle must be equipped with the multi-piece “Screamin’ Eagle” style compensating sprocket assembly.
