Quantum of Solace (2008) has the most memorable Bond chase with a score of 8.11/10. The film’s iconic opening scene sees Daniel Craig on a boat as 007 chasing through Lake Garda in Italy as he is being hunted down by the enemy. Views on YouTube have amassed 5 million to date and resulted in a score of 9.16 out of a possible 10 on the platform’s like to dislike ratio – the highest score of all the chase scenes analysed.

Another Daniel Craig scene in Italy takes second, with the latest 007 film, Spectre (2015), and the Aston Martin v Jaguar chase through Rome scoring 7.85/10. Despite achieving more views than its successor (over 6 million) and scoring a perfect 10 due to the 950 monthly YouTube searches, the scene received 1,721 dislikes. Becoming the fourth most ‘disliked’ in the whole franchise behind; The World is Not Enough (1999) with 3,740 dislikes, Licence to Kill (1979) with 2,469 and Moonraker (1979) with 2,181.

GoldenEye (1995) takes third place with a total score of 7.11/10. The first of four Bond films portrayed by Pierce Brosnan sees him racing an Aston Martin DB5 behind a Ferrari F355 through the French mountains. Despite not taking gold or silver, all four of Pierce Brosnan’s films make the top 10 chases – collecting over 17 million YouTube views, almost ten times more than George Lazenby with 179,928 – making him the most memorable Bond actor in vehicle chases.

The World is Not Enough (1999) is the most liked vehicle chase on YouTube

Clocking over 35,000 likes on the viewing platform, The World is Not Enough (1999) takes centre stage as the most liked video on YouTube. Brosnan’s final opening scene as Bond sees him chasing down the enemy on a boat along the River Thames has been viewed over 8 million times, over four times more than his first release in the franchise, GoldenEye (1995), and almost double than his third release (Die Another Day – 2002).

Despite being the fifth highest rated Bond film (7.4/10 on IMDb) From Russia With Love (1963) has the least popular vehicle chase with a dismal score of 2.89/10. The scene has just 10 average YouTube searches per month and only 684,175 views in total.
