Sadly, the motorcycling community has lost another life-long motorcycling freedom fighter. STILL RAY FITZGERALD died peacefully in hospice care in Prescott, Arizona on May 2nd.
Still Ray was an ABATE of Arizona lifetime member since January 1, 1987. He had been ABATE Yavapai Chapter Coordinator, ABATE of Arizona Chairman of the Board of Directors, the Arizona Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs Chairman, the Journeymen Motorcycle Club President, the first Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) Club Rep., a member of the Sturgis Motorcycle Freedom Fighter Hall of Fame, and a Prescott City Councilman.
Still Ray was instrumental in building the bridge between motorcycle clubs and the MRF. It was his idea to bring the Motorcycle Club Representative into the MRF Board while enhancing our Sustaining Motorcycle Club Membership program at the same time.
Few are as dedicated to motorcycle rights and involved in their communities’ policies as this man was. It’s no surprise that Still Ray and Deborah Butitta were close friends, a strong alliance, and made stuff happen.
