Walworth, Wis. – Jan. 2, 2024 – More than 4,400 consignments and 40 collections will cross the auction block at Mecum Kissimmee 2024, the 25th anniversary celebration of The World’s Largest Collector Car Auction®, to take place today through Sunday, Jan. 14 at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. The final car count for the world record-setting event may reach 4,500 vehicles, featuring a broad selection of offerings including American muscle cars, ‘50s classics, Corvettes, exotics, trucks, Hot Rods, customs and more. MotorTrendTV and MotorTrend+ will broadcast 36 hours of live coverage of the auction.
Mecum Kissimmee 2023 achieved a record $234 million in sales to become the first-ever live collector car auction to exceed $200 million in consecutive years after the 2022 auction saw totals reach $217 million, and with such an exceptional and expansive lineup for the 2024 25th anniversary event, comparative results are expected again this year.
“Following last January’s world record performance in Kissimmee, Frank Mecum and our consignment team has yet again achieved remarkable results with a stellar selection of vehicles for auction at our 25th Mecum Kissimmee event,” Mecum Auctions CEO Dave Magers said. “This year’s world’s-largest collector car auction will further raise the standard with even more vehicles and an even more superior docket.”
Consignments will be displayed across the 200 acres of Osceola Heritage Park with more than 800,000 square feet of tents, including the 150-by-50-foot “glass house” that will showcase a large selection of the main-attraction vehicles consigned to the auction. Another featured viewing area on-site is the Ferrari-exclusive “The Room,” which will house vehicles of the prancing horse variety valued at upwards of $150 million total.
Several Chevrolet Corvette-focused collections contain many of the headlining consignments, while the more than 460 lots of “America’s Sports Car” lead all models in quantity. Additionally, 175 Ford Mustangs, 170 Chevrolet Camaros, 115 Mercedes-Benzes, 80 Porsches and nearly 40 Ferraris are consigned as well. Several auction days will see more than 400 lots cross the block.
