For all you lucky dogs heading to the 91st Laconia Motorcycle Week; Saturday, June 14th – Sunday, June 22nd; we hope you enjoy all the rides, shows, concerts, great riding areas, races, and food. Laconia is one of my favorite rallies. Always love going to that area. If you are here’s an event that will get you revved up for the rest of the rally. The kickoff event of Laconia Motorcycle Week is the Peter Makris Memorial Run.
The Peter Makris Memorial Run celebrates the life and service of deceased community leader Peter Makris. It raises needed funding for the Laconia Fire Department’s Water Rescue Unit and also supports the Easter Seals New Hampshire, “Veterans Count” to commemorate Makris’ service as a US Marine. “We know Peter would want to support this cause that is so important to our community and country,” says Cynthia Makris, President of the family-owned NASWA Resort and also of Laconia Motorcycle Week.
Registration, breakfast and line-up starts at the Resort’s lakefront hot spot, the NAZBar & Grill. This year’s commemorative t-shirts sport a new logo designed by famed artist, David Uhl, and are included in the registration. At 11AM it’s kickstands up for a police-escorted, feet-up ride around the lake. After the ride there will be a luncheon buffet, thanks to the area food service, InFusion Sales Group. The NAZBar & Grill will rock with live music, raffles, “spirited” promotions and a silent auction to create a full-out “Biker Boogie” with an option for guests to roll up their jeans and cool their toes in the Lake. Call 888-55-NASWA, 603-366-4341 or visit www.naswa.com for more information.
