J&P Cycles recently made donations to three local charities to show their support of local, ongoing efforts in the regional area. On Saturday, Sept. 20, J&P Cycles Director of Human Resources Lori Madrick and J&P staff members Jade Helgens and Tammy Winders presented a $5,000 check to the Cedar Rapids, Iowa ALS Chapter just before the ALS Walk.
J&P Cycles and its staff members took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in early September to promote awareness of support of those living with ALS and researching this disease.
J&P Cycles also showed its support of Waypoint Services, a local shelter providing support for women and families in crisis due to homelessness, poverty and domestic violence. J&P Cycles Vice President and General Manager Zach Parham and Retail Events Manager Bill Barber presented the $2,000 check to Waypoint Services staff members in mid-September.
On Oct. 11, Waypoint Services is holding the Gentleman Ride, which is beginning at the J&P Cycles Anamosa Showroom. Check-in for the event is being held from 9:30 to 10:30 that day with the ride leaving from Delhi at 11 a.m. After stopping in Delhi, the group will head to Wyoming, Iowa, before returning to Scooters in Anamosa, by 3 p.m.
Another $1,500 check was presented to the Toys for Tots group by J&P Cycles Director of Brand & Creative Marketing Curt Gandy and Director of Retail & Events Tara Blanchard, ensuring that less fortunate Jones County children will have presents under the tree this holiday season. Additionally, the Teufelhund Marine Corps group, showed their support to this cause by donating $1,740.
Parham said of the donations, “It’s with great pride that J&P Cycles and our staff members show support of these local organizations. We commend each of them for the work they do.”
