Birmingham, AL — June 5, 2024 — Motorcycle Missions is proud to announce the successful participation of 13 of its program participants & volunteers at the annual Barber Small Bore event held at the prestigious Barber Motorsports Museum. Over three action-packed days, our program participants showcased their skills and camaraderie, riding on Motorcycle Missions fleet of 13 minibikes (each under 200cc) in a variety of thrilling activities.
Among the event highlights was the debut of two custom CT70s, meticulously built by Motorcycle Missions program participants from the Georgetown Fire Department and Sheppard Air Force Base. These exceptional builds were completed in just two months so they could be showcased at the Barber Small Bore event.
The event was a celebration of motorcycling fun and adventure, featuring trail riding, drag racing, pit bike racing, stunt competitions, a mini grand prix, and hill climb competitions. Adding to the festivities, a metal mariachi band welcomed contestants at the top of the hill climb.
Motorcycle Missions program participants were also treated to an exclusive tour of the Barber Motorsports Museum, led by our esteemed Advising Board Member, Robert Pandya. His in-depth knowledge and passion for motorcycles made the tour an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
In addition, Motorcycle Missions had the distinct honor of running the Small Bore Bike Show. The competition was fierce, but four participants stood out and received well-deserved recognition for their outstanding bikes:
-
People’s Choice — Terry’s Top Speed: $1000 cash prize and trophy
-
Best RestoMod — Spencer East: Trophy
-
Best Resto Custom — Paul Samson: Trophy
-
Cafe Racers Of Instagram Choice Award — Dave Nilson: Trophy
The event was a resounding success, filled with excitement, competition, and a strong sense of community. The Motorcycle Missions team and the vets & first responders are thrilled to have been part of this incredible experience and are already looking forward to next year’s Barber Small Bore event.
