Great balls of fire, there must have been a whole lot of shaking going on down in Kissimmee, Florida over the weekend as rock ‘n’ roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis’s 1959 Harley-Davidson FLH Duo Glide was sold Saturday for $350,000 at the Mecum Kissimmee Auction at Osceola Heritage Park.
Lewis, nicknamed “The Killer”, had owned the bike since Harley Davidson had presented it to him brand new in 1959 as a gift. Elvis Presley “The King” was given an identical motorcycle a little later. “The Killer” said that “The King” was jealous because he had gotten his Harley first. The 79 year old Lewis tickled the ivory on a grand piano to the standing-room only crowd as the reserve was lifted.
